I know its been a while and I keep promising to be consistent, but being time poor it never seems to happen.
I have had a few remarkable rides, notably, riding dicko for the first time and finding out he has movement to die for!! Elevated trot and an upright, ground covering canter! I would have ridden him much sooner had I realised that I would enjoy it so much!
Finally finishing Squizzy - when I say finished, I got my canters out of her, so I now consider her fully started. Having said that she is still a very very green horse. But an exceptional one at that - the canters were care free - took her on a trail and she wanted to canter and popped up into the smoothest first canter I have ever experienced! Took her out on the trail and found that she wants to go, and really enjoys being out on the ride - ears were forward and flicking back to me to make sure I didnt want anything, happy to trot, walk (walk - she marches!) and canter. The most difficult thing i found was resisting the urge to pull her up - she is just so nice and forward, im used to having to ask them to go.
Finishing Rocky, also out on the trail - got the canters out of him aswell. He was just the same, happy to be out, not a care in the world!
Got to go, Happy trails!
